CHEEKLIFT – MIDFACELIFT

Age-related changes become visible in the mid-face as early as our 30’s…A CheekLift is a simple procedure that lifts a sagging cheek & restores it to a more youthful position…

Facial aging shows up in the mid-face in our thirties.  Hollow cheeks that look sunken, marionette lines start to become deeper as nasolabial folds become more noticeable. You may develop an angry look as the muscle between your eyes changes – and smile lines deepen as your cheek fat pads begin to descend.  A CheekLift/MidFaceLift corrects these problems and restores a more youthful appearance to your mid-face. Dr. White performs an entire spectrum of facelift surgeries – from the more extensive deep plane facelift to the less extensive “mini-lift.”  Today there is a great deal of time, energy and money being spent to promote and brand certain kinds of facelifts as “the latest and greatest.” You need to be aware that no single type of surgery is right for everybody – one size does not fit all.

Dr. White is skilled in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries/procedures of every kind. He uses today’s most advanced – but reliable – techniques, and as a specially trained surgeon – his skill and experience achieve natural looking results – using the right treatment plan - for your specific needs.

Good Candidate for CheekLift/MidFaceLift:
A good candidate for Dr. White’s CheekLift/MidFaceLift is and man or woman who is concerned with any or all of the items listed above.  During your personal consultation - Dr. White will assess your concerns to determine your needs and tailor the right treatment plan for you.  An ideal candidate should be in overall good health and capable of having realistic expectations. Often – CheekLift/MidFaceLift is done in concert with an Endo/Eyebrow lift – in order to achieve overall facial balance and your optimal desired outcome.

Your Midfacelift (Cheeklift) Consultation:
Dr. White believes the first consult is critical to both you and him.  It is during this time that you both achieve a mutual understanding, trust and respect. The information you provide is essential to tailoring the right treatment plan and realistic goals. Dr. White will listen carefully and sensitively before developing your surgery/treatment plan.

CheekLift/MidFaceLift Procedure:
After you’re sedated and comfortable, Dr.White will make small incisions above the ear and inside the hairline and will work through these to lift and tighten muscles and reposition your cheek pads to their more youthful location.  A soft, bulky head dressing is used to protect your surgery for a few days.

What can I expect after midfacelift surgery?
Some swelling and bruising is normal and to be expected, Dr. White is able to minimize this by using more advanced, specialized techniques today. Keeping your head elevated will be required for 1-2 weeks and you will have to avoid all strenuous activity such as straining, heavy lifting and bending.  The swelling and bruising will resolve quickly, within a few days and any discomfort you may experience will be easily managed with oral pain medication such as Tylenol.

Frequently Asked Questions – CheekLift/MidFaceLift:

Is A CheekLift/MidFaceLift Right For Me – Or Do I Need A Full FaceLift?
Dr. White believes that less is best – and if you start early enough with less invasive procedures – often – full-blown is not needed or can be put off years longer. If you are mainly concerned about the changes in your midface – then this could be right for you because it targets specific areas – with less downtime – shorter healing time.

When Will I Be Able To Return To Work?
Typically Dr. White’s patients are looking presentable and able to return to work in 7-10 days.  However, if you do a combined procedure for greater results, with an Endo BrowLift for example, your downtime may be slightly longer.

How Painful Is CheekLift/MidFaceLift?
There is some discomfort with any procedure, but our patients call it “discomfort” rather than pain.  This is easily managed with oral pain medication and elevation of the head etc.

How Does CheekLift Differ From FaceLift?
It is less invasive – with less muscle lifting/tightening, smaller incisions and less tissue disturbance, so there is less bruising and shorter healing time generally.

What Anesthetic Is Used?
Dr. White will discuss this with you during your consultation – but usually a local anesthetic with sedation is chosen.

How Long Does CheekLift/MidFaceLift Surgery Take?
Usually and hour is required – unless you do a combination of procedures to achieve greater – longer-lasting results.
it takes about an hour to complete.

Will Insurance Pay For CheekLift/MidFaceLift?
No.  Insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures – but there is financing available today.  Ask about it in our business office.
