What Does The BOTOX® Injection Do?
BOTOX® Cosmetic – also called botulinum exotoxin - is a neuromuscular inhibitor.  When Botx is injected into a muscle - it prevents muscle contraction thus causing the muscle to relax.  The relax muscle allows the wrinkles, furrows and creases to smooth out and become unnoticeable.

Am I A Good Candidate For BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatments?

Is Anesthesia Needed During BOTOX® Treatments?
NO – anesthesia is typically not needed, but Dr. White can use local anesthetic if needed.

Are BOTOX® Injections Painful?
NO - Patients say they experience only a temporary burning sensation.

How Much Time Is Involves In A BOTOX® Treatment Session?
Dr. White treatments last from a few minutes to an hour. The length of time depends upon the extensiveness of your treatment.

Do BOTOX® Treatments Involve Downtime?
Dr. White’s patients rarely require downtime. Most of his patients typically resume  normal activities right after their treatment.

What Are The Potential Side Effects From BOTOX®?
Rarely - some patients may fail to see improvement in their condition after treatment.  Some numbness, swelling and/or a burning sensation and bruising are normal in many cases and resolve on their own in a few days. 

Does Insurance Cover BOTOX® Treatments?
Insurance covers medically necessary treatments which does not include BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments. When BOTOX® is used for medical treatment, coverage should be available. Be sure to ask about this.
