NECK LIFT OR NECK LIPOSUCTION
One of the most defining characteristics of a youthful face – is the neckline.
Excess neck fat – loose sagging skin – jowls – these are all visible signs of facial aging…
A Necklift is also called Platysmaplasty and is used to improve the appearance of excess fat and sagging neck skin otherwise known as turkey waddle. Multiple chins are another age-related change caused by neck area excess skin, relaxed muscle that forms vertical bands and fat that often pooches out as it descends. Liposuction benefits people who are younger with good strong muscles and skin elasticity, but Dr. White understands that more mature people require a NeckLift to correct these problems. Fat under the chin is often hereditary and is totally unaffected by diet and exercise. Normal aging, gravity, heredity or weight loss and weight gain all contribute.
Dr. White is skilled in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries/procedures of every kind. He uses today’s most advanced – but reliable – techniques, and as a specially trained surgeon – his skill and experience achieve natural looking results – using the right treatment plan - for your specific needs.

NECKLIFT AND/OR LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE:
Dr. White works through tiny incisions under your chin to manipulate the platysma muscle and suture it into a new position. Excess fat and skin will be removed and a more youthful definition and contour will be restored. This Necklift procedure typically includes liposuction - which involves suctioning excess fat in the neck area - through a cannula (vacuum tube). This fat can be treated and transferred (fat transfer) to deep creases and wrinkles to rejuvenate and plump them out. Excess skin is trimmed and the remaining skin is lifted into place and sutured. Small incisions behind the ear allow for this. The procedure takes from 2-4 hours or longer if done in concert with another. Sutures close the incisions, and a compression bandage, which is worn for about 1 week, is wrapped around your head and neck.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER NECKLIFT AND/OR LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE?
Some bruising, swelling, mild discomfort and numbness are normal and to be expected. These issues resolve a little each day over a few days. Any discomfort will be easily managed with oral pain medication. You will need to keep your head elevated as much as possible for 2-3 weeks to help reduce swelling. Typically, Dr. White’s patients return to work within 10-14 days post-surgery. Strenuous activities such as working out, weight lifting, bending, stooping and straining must strictly be avoided for about 3 weeks. Dr. White usually removes sutures within 7-10 days after your surgery.
